JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Cambria County Drug Coalition will be holding a memorial service Saturday, August 31 for International Overdose Awareness Day at Point Park in downtown Johnstown.

“The Recovery Workgroup of the Cambria County Drug Coalition decided to hold this event overlooking the Stone Bridge because it truly is a symbol of strength and survival. It has not been since the devastation of the floods that Cambria County has seen such mass casualties and loss of life that we have seen in the past three years due to the opioid epidemic. There has been a total of 252 overdose deaths since 2016 and this evening we will gather to honor the memory of loved ones who lost their battle to substance use disorder.”
